Work at the ILC
The Institute of Languages and Cultures of the Mediterranean and the Near East (ILC), as a research center belonging to the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), and therefore also part of the General State Administration through the Ministry of Science and Innovation, offers various job opportunities:
- Project-based employment contracts through the CSIC’s Labour Exchange
The various research projects carried out at the ILC and that receive financial support for their implementation can hire research or technical staff through the CSIC’s Labour Exchange. These contracts are offered through open calls following the principles of publicity, equality, merit, and ability. The CSIC’s Labour Exchange is updated annually and all applicants must register:
Current offers:
Two project-based postdoctoral contracts (July 10, 2025)
- Calls for grants for contracts under National and International Programs
This type of access to work at the ILC responds to the various calls offered each year by public funding agencies, both national and international, that award grants for the formalization of employment contracts for research and technical staff. These calls, at the state level, include the Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva, PTA, etc. At the international level, we can find calls from the European Research Council (ERC), including the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), and also the Starting Grant.
- Public Employment Offer (OEP)
Every year, the Government, through the Council of Ministers and at the proposal of the Minister of Public Service, approves the Public Employment Offer (OEP), which lists all permanent positions, civil servants, or employees, for access to the General State Administration. The latest OEP corresponds to 2024:
Real Decreto 656/2024, de 2 de julio
- Researcher Training
As stated in its founding statute, one of the main objectives of the CSIC is the training of research personnel. To this end, it has various scholarship programs and initiatives, from the earliest stages, such as the JAE Intro training scholarships, or collaboration with other institutions for training sessions, such as the 4ºESO+Empresa program, with the Community of Madrid.
Its actions also include hosting predoctoral researchers who have been awarded FPU contracts.
